To begin our vacation, we flew to Calgary and then drove south through the Turner Valley on provincial highway 22 toward our initial destination of Fernie, BC. On the way, we encountered a serious traffic accident (car meets motorcycle) and got to see the lifesaving actions of the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society [STARS] firsthand.
